What’s there
The playground has a farm theme that fits Sherborn. The main play structure is shaped like a barn, with slides, a climbing wall, and a ladder, and a little tractor next to it has an 01770 license plate, Sherborn’s ZIP code.

There are swings for babies and older kids, including a high-back support swing, plus a saucer swing and a rope climbing net. A big sandbox is built around a pretend Sherborn Farm Stand and a turtle, and there are benches around the edges for parents.

A community project
Sherborn kids drew up their ideas for the playground, and community volunteers built it by hand in 2015, making it a true community project.

Parking
The playground’s parking lot is off Cemetery Lane, marked by a Ward J. Parks Recreation Area sign. The lot is shared with Jameson Fields and the skate park, so it can be busy during baseball and softball games.

Nearby
The playground shares its parking lot with Jameson Fields, so it is easy to combine a ballgame with playtime. The town’s tennis and pickleball courts are right next door, and the Pine Hill School playground nearby is another option. Small Ward Parks Pond sits right beside the playground, and the skate park is next to the parking lot.
