The Pine Hill 5K is an annual community fundraising road race in Sherborn.

The race raises funds for the Pine Hill Community School Association (CSA), the school’s parent organization, and the 5K is one of the CSA’s largest fundraisers each year. Typically held in mid to late September, the Pine Hill 5K brings together Pine Hill families, Sherborn residents, and runners from the surrounding area.

The course

The 5K is run on a loop that starts and finishes on Pine Hill Lane, near Jameson Fields and the bottom of the road leading up to the school. After the start, the course takes a right onto Eliot Street (Route 16), turns right onto Lake Street, right onto Farm Road, and right onto North Main Street, before the festive finish with music on Pine Hill Lane.

Lake Street has a small, gradual climb, and North Main Street slopes downhill through the center of town on the way back to the finish line.

For runners and walkers

The Pine Hill 5K is a USATF-certified, chip-timed race, making it a real race for runners who want to compete while still being welcoming for people who want to casually run or walk the course. Strollers are welcome.

Supporting Pine Hill

There is a fee to participate in the race, and local companies sponsor sections of the race course and water stations. Proceeds from the race support the Pine Hill CSA, which helps to fund enrichment programs, materials, equipment, and other programs benefiting students at Pine Hill.

Race dates, registration, and course details can change from year to year, so check the Pine Hill CSA website for the latest signup information.
